Viswakesh
An independent musician, songwriter and creative storyteller from Salem, Tamil Nadu.

Viswakesh is an independent musician, songwriter and creative storyteller from Salem, Tamil Nadu, whose musical journey began in 2018, in his first year of college.
For him, music is not about mastering a prescribed formula or fitting into a particular musical tradition. It is a way of expressing what he feels, observes and experiences. His compositions grow from emotions and life itself, finding their way into melodies, lyrics and stories.
Through Vis Musics India, Viswakesh has built an independent creative practice that brings together songwriting, composition, releases and experimentation. He is also the creator, producer and host of Vaasal FM, a podcast project that reflects his wider interest in storytelling and human experiences.
Remaining independent allows him to retain a personal connection with his work and make creative decisions on his own terms. Like many independent artists, he balances his passion for music with professional responsibilities and the practical demands of everyday life.
His work continues to evolve with him. Rather than being confined to a single genre or a fixed musical identity, Viswakesh creates from a place of feeling, allowing each song to find its own voice.
The writer
Viswakesh also writes Tamil poetry and fiction, under the name விஸ்வகேஷ். He writes the way he makes music: from what he feels and what he sees around him, without following a set form.
Five languages
Tamil is home. The other four came through songs he wanted more people to hear.
